WHAT DOES AN EKGÂ TECHNICIAN DO?

EKG/ECG may assist in the following ways:
-Running EKGs (electrocardiograms) and stress tests
-Scheduling patient appointments
-Prepping patients for Holter or ambulatory monitoring
- Editing and delivering test results to physicians
-Transcribing doctors’ notes, and much more!

Take your exam. Choose one of the following scheduling options to sit for your exam:

EKG EXAM ELIGIBILITY
Certification pathways are as easy as 1, 2, 3!
You successfully completed a program that included medical training in the field of EKG Technician within the last 5 years and you possess a high school diploma or GED.
You may also qualify if:
You can produce an official letter (on company letterhead) from a past or present employer stating that you have two years experience or more.
Additional Pathways
You have worked in the medical field in this country or abroad and can submit proof such as a medical or college degree, vocational diploma, or military certificate.

If you meet the criteria in Box 1, 2 or 3 you are eligible to sit for your NPTAA certification exam!
